Summary: What better way to wow your co-workers is there than copying the appearance and power of the most notorious life form on the planet? Well, no one told the nefarious terrorist Dr. Who (not that one) that he lives in the same area as Godzilla, so he made a robo-copy of King Kong instead. Still pretty neat, though.

History: Mechani-Kong was a creation of Who made to mine the precious metal known as Element X. His first attempt blew up in his face, with the robot short-circuiting due to underground magnetic action. While Who decided to get the real deal (Kong) to mine it for him, Mechani-Kong remained in storage just in case. Alas, when Kong inevitably broke out of his control, the robot was put into commission again to combat its organic precursor.

Notable Kills: None.

Final Fate: Controlling Mechani-Kong from afar in his private boat, Who fights Kong in Tokyo. However, as the two titans combat on Tokyo Tower, the terrorist mastermind is betrayed by his assistant, Madame Piranha (no, really), who sabotages the controls, causing Mechani-Kong to malfunction and plummet alongside a chunk of the tower, shattering into pieces upon impact.

Powers/Abilities: Aside from enhanced strength, Mechani-Kong comes with a grenade belt and special optics that emit a blinding light at aggressors. He can also emit a hypnotic light from his forehead.

Weakness: Mechani-Kong's structure is actually quite fragile under all that armor, capable of short-circuiting and unable to handle extreme pressure.

Scariness Factor: 3-Not the most intimidating giant robot to date, with a goofy gorilla face and a tendency to malfunction at the worst times. Still, in the right hands, it would be a formidable weapon.

Trivia: -Mechani-Kong was originally going to fight Godzilla in a future film, but that idea was scrapped. To give you a hint on how awesome it would have been, it was during the Heisei era.

-Mechani-Kong and his creator Dr. Who actually first made appearances in the 1966 animated series, "The King Kong Show", as recurring antagonists.
